The old part is very picturesque of tipically mediterranenan atmosphere in its architecture and fish boats on a riva. Early settlement dates back to the antique times when it was well known for having its own mint. The port of Rogoznica at the times of Venetian rule was the safest port for small ships due to the shallow sea. Today the marina «Frapa» is there as the safest shelter for yachts of all sizes in that part of the coast.

The place has a market, fishery, post office, bakery, butcher, different shops, medical centre and about ten restorants with specialities of fish, shell-fish, shrimps and other sea food, it is possible to make reservation in most of them. Rogoznica is located in middle Adriatic coast and is surrounded by the cities: Split, Šibenik, Trogir and Primošten.
